Special Olympics World Games 2015
Environmental Graphic Development and Production

What is the

Special Olympics?

In Summer 2015, the Special Olympic World Games came to Los Angeles. Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Los Angeles is the perfect platform for the World games. It is the true definition of "The Melting Pot", a place where diversity is celebrated, embraced and where "dreams come true".

The project took place over the course of 8 months. As a team, we wanted to amplify the event to a global level by creating a lasting impression using consistent iconic design and translate the brand graphic into a physical experience.

Award podium design. There are distinctive tiers for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. Instead, everyone stands on the same platform to symbolize that everyone is considered equal.

Marathon banners and mile mark designs.

Finish line archway design. Taking the same arch used for the entrance of the event and repurposing it here as a finish line.

Several concepts were selected to be produced for

the event. The following are a series of photos of produced environmental graphics applications

and strutures.
